Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 May 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GolfDag platform operated by Nico Technologies CC t/a GolfDag (registration details available on request, “GolfDag”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, publishing an event, booking a 4-ball, sponsoring a hole, or making a donation through GolfDag, you agree to these Terms.

1. What GolfDag does

GolfDag is a SaaS platform that lets organisers publish a golf day, sell 4-ball and individual entries, accept hole/prize/banner sponsorships and donations through Yoco, and manage bookings and tee-time allocations. GolfDag is a software intermediary — we do not host the golf day, supply the prizes, or provide on-course services.

2. Accounts

To use authenticated parts of GolfDag you must:

  • Be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
  • Provide accurate contact information.
  • Keep your email inbox secure. We use email and password sign-in, and we send a one-time code to verify new accounts.
  • Activate an “organiser” persona only if you genuinely intend to organise a golf day or operate on behalf of an organisation that does.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@golfdag.co.za.

3. Bookings and payments

Bookings start as “pending” until payment is confirmed. Payment is processed by Yoco on a hosted checkout page operated by Yoco. We receive a webhook from Yoco confirming the outcome and update your booking accordingly. Bookings are considered confirmed only when we have received a successful payment notification from Yoco or when the organiser has manually marked the booking as paid.

Prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include any applicable taxes. The organiser is responsible for the accuracy of pricing, capacity, and event detail; GolfDag relies on what they publish.

4. Sponsorships and donations

Sponsorship purchases (hole sponsor, prize sponsor, banner sponsor) and donations are paid directly to the organiser through Yoco. Once payment succeeds, the sponsorship slot is reserved and the organiser is notified. Donations are non-refundable except as required by South African law or our Refund Policy.

5. Organiser obligations

If you publish an event as an organiser you agree to:

  • Run the event on the published date or notify all bookers and sponsors promptly if it changes.
  • Issue refunds where required by the Consumer Protection Act, the Yoco merchant terms, or our Refund Policy.
  • Treat booker and sponsor personal information confidentially and only for the purpose of running the event.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, including consumer-protection, tax, gaming, and event-licensing rules.

6. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Use GolfDag to commit fraud, launder money, or accept payment for prohibited goods or services.
  • Submit false personal information or impersonate someone else.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the platform.
  • Use GolfDag to send unsolicited communications.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

GolfDag and all related marks, software, designs and content are owned by Nico Technologies CC. You retain ownership of the content you upload (event description, logos, sponsor details) and grant us a licence to display and process it solely to provide the service.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

GolfDag is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, our total liability to you arising out of or relating to the platform is limited to the greater of (a) R 1 000 and (b) the fees you have paid to GolfDag in the three months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for the conduct of organisers, golfers, sponsors, courses, or any third-party service used through GolfDag (including Yoco, Supabase, Resend, and Microsoft Azure).

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate the service or your account if you breach these Terms, if continued use poses a security or legal risk, or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using GolfDag at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be resolved in the South African courts of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change accordingly. Material changes will also be emailed to active account holders. Continued use of GolfDag after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Contact
