Refund Policy
Last updated: 25 May 2026
This Refund Policy sets out when and how refunds are issued for purchases made through GolfDag operated by Nico Technologies CC t/a GolfDag. It applies alongside our Terms of Service and your statutory rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA).
1. Who issues the refund
GolfDag is a software intermediary. Payments for golf day bookings, sponsorships, and donations are received by the event organiser directly through Yoco. As a result the organiser is the party responsible for issuing the refund. GolfDag facilitates the request and reflects the refund status in the booking record.
2. Booking refunds (4-balls and individual entries)
2.1 If the organiser cancels the event
You are entitled to a full refund of any amounts paid for the cancelled event. The organiser must notify bookers as soon as practical and process the refund through Yoco within 14 calendar days of cancellation, or such other period that organiser and booker agree in writing.
2.2 If the organiser materially changes the event
If the organiser materially changes the date, venue, format, or fee in a way that you would not reasonably have agreed to, you may request a full refund within 7 calendar days of being notified of the change. After that period the change is deemed accepted.
2.3 If you cancel your booking
Refunds for booker-initiated cancellations are at the organiser's discretion unless the CPA requires otherwise. The organiser may publish their own cancellation policy on the event page (for example, full refund 14 days before the event, no refund inside 48 hours). If no policy is published, organisers are encouraged to apply the following good-faith default:
- More than 14 days before the event: full refund less the Yoco processing fee.
- Between 7 and 14 days before the event: 50% refund.
- Less than 7 days before the event: no refund (because the slot can rarely be re-sold).
2.4 If something went wrong with the booking
If you were charged in error (for example a duplicate payment, the wrong amount, or a payment that did not result in a confirmed booking), email hello@golfdag.co.za with the booking reference and we will work with the organiser to issue a full refund through Yoco.
3. Sponsorship refunds
Hole, prize, and banner sponsorships are generally non-refundable once the organiser has been notified, because the sponsorship slot is reserved and physical preparations (signage, prize hand-over, branding) typically begin immediately. Exceptions:
- Event cancellation: full refund of the sponsorship fee.
- Sponsor delivery failure: if the organiser does not deliver the agreed sponsorship benefits (for example, no signage was put up, or branding was missing), the sponsor may request a partial or full refund. Disputes are resolved between sponsor and organiser; GolfDag will mediate on request.
4. Donations
Donations are non-refundable except where the donor was charged in error or where the law requires a refund. Donation funds are paid to the organiser who, in turn, is expected to apply them to the cause stated on the event page.
5. How to request a refund
- Email the organiser directly if you have their contact (their name appears at the top of the event page). Include your booking reference.
- If you cannot reach the organiser, email hello@golfdag.co.za with your booking reference, reason for the refund, and any supporting detail.
- We will contact the organiser on your behalf and follow up until a decision is made.
6. How refunds are paid
Refunds are paid back to the original payment method used at Yoco checkout (card or instant EFT). Yoco typically takes 3-7 business days to credit the original card or bank account after the refund is initiated. GolfDag is not liable for delays caused by the payment provider or your bank.
7. Chargebacks
Before opening a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, please contact us and the organiser first. A successful chargeback will void your booking or sponsorship and may incur additional fees passed through to the organiser. We will work to resolve any legitimate dispute promptly.
8. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act or any other South African law.
9. Contact
For any refund question or dispute: hello@golfdag.co.za.
